Sturges Sports Group focuses on building brands through aligning with women’s sports. After working for global sports properties and media companies for their entire careers, Leela Narang and Cynthia Howard launched Sturges Sports Group to provide industry insights and knowledge to help companies navigate the landscape of investing in female sports. As leading women sports marketers themselves, they rely on their experience to connect brands with their consumers through socially responsible engagement.
Leela Narang
Partner
Leela has 25+ years experience in LPGA sales, athlete representation, and brand partnerships in professional golf. She has built client strategies within the PGA Tour, LPGA, USGA and other sports leagues and is known for her leadership in advocating for her clients. Her prior work includes: Partner at Outlyr (Executive Director for the ShopRite LPGA Classic), Octagon (Vice President of Golf Division) and Golf Digest (Director of Advertising Sales). Leela sits on the Board of Directors of The First Tee of NY and is a prior board member of the EWGA. She was the captain of the basketball team at Wesleyan University where she received both her Master’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree. Leela is a former professional golfer and resides in Connecticut with her husband and two boys.
Cynthia Howard
Partner
Cynthia is a senior sales executive with more than 25 years of experience delivering ad revenue growth. The majority of her career was spent in the media sales group at the PGA TOUR and Sports Illustrated, where she honed her skills at forging deep sports industry relationships and developing revenue through new client generation. She is an executive board member of The First Tee of Metro New York and an Ambassador of Women’s Golf
Day. Cynthia graduated with a degree in Sports Management from the University of Virginia, where she played field hockey and lacrosse. Cynthia and her husband are raising three active boys.
